If the default avatar was female I think this topic would have been mentioned more often, but since it is male I think it just passes over many people's heads.
A: Its just your common or garden unconscious sexism... male is generic, female is specific.. few people notice that they make hundreds of these discriminatory choices every day. Its a valid point and I reckon you should tell yahoo - as they are big enough to know better.
